Grand Opening @ Museum of the City of Skopje June 21 18h. by Mayor of the City of Skopje, Director of the Museum of Skopje and organisers from Plakart. (see here.)

"Many of the ideas of the graphical design students have remain unnoticed because of the lack of chance they have to reach the audience. A typical student exhibition is neither an adequate challenge, nor a sufficient satisfaction for the artist. Having this in mind, PLAKART, non-governmental organization established in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia, got the idea to organize the First International Student Poster Competition.

The goal of this competition is to encourage a direct communication with the ordinary audience by promoting a higher perception for the “poster standard”, not only for tolerance, but for the poster as an artistic form as well…
To position the awareness for tolerance(2008 ISPC topic) and its’ meaning on a higher level through affirmation and promotion of the poster as a medium for mass communication.
Adding the international character to the manifestation provides a great opportunity to encourage the artistic debate, that will eventually result in improving the conditions in society.

“Tolerance – A Global Challenge” represents a base for cultural interchange, with students – “the future craftsman”! To have them make new friendships and realize the importance of tolerance as well as it’s major goals. Simply said, I believe that TOLERANCE IS THE FUTURE!"

Laze Tripkov -organiser, president of PLAKART
